Would you describe me as creative?

Do you know me?  Quick, describe me in five words!  You don't have to be nice;)

Most people who know me well would include that  I am creative.  I agree.  I love arts and crafts far beyond glue and macaroni, I'm pretty resourceful when I want something to happen, and most importantly (and unfortunately for my family who has to live with me) I am constantly improving things around the house and finding new ways to organize and use our limited space.

I'm pretty exhausting.

And so since I have this summer off (I'm a secondary teacher) and I loath down time (I don't.  I just don't know how to achieve it) I decided that I would give myself a Create Something Everyday challenge for my 62 days of summer.

It started with a conversation with my students about my method of marketing my paintings: my artclub.com website.  First: "whoa, Ms B, that's cool!"  Next: "Are you on Twitter?"  Me: "I have a public Facebook site!"  Them: "Are you on Instagram?  Tumblr?  [the looks on their precious faces asked "Anything remotely cool?"]

I thought I knew about social media.  After all I had both a private AND a public site on Facebook!

I tend to think that my students are pretty brilliant people who are trying to hide it from us normal folks so I got to work learning about social media.  I literally read and re-read The Beginner's Guide to Twitter and so began my plunge....

I signed up for Twitter and began tweeting daily what I was creating: food, crafts, gardening.  I ran into some issues with Twitter linking to Facebook so I thought let's blog!  And I'm pretty sure Instagram is my next step.  I'm green, but well on my way to being in the know.  Though by the time I get there I'm sure everyone else will have moved on to the next best thing:)
